Club is set to expand in 2009
White Rose Polo Club is set to undergo a major expansion in time for the start of the 2009 season after being invited to take over the running of existing polo facilities at nearby Houghton Hall.
As part of a new three-year deal, White Rose Polo Club will operate the stables, manege, polo fields and grazing on the Houghton Hall estate, which is located less than a mile away from its headquarters at Townend Farm in the village of North Cliffe near Market Weighton.
Chairman of White Rose Polo Club, Hedley Aylott, said: "White Rose Polo Club is committed to providing continuity of service to those polo players currently based at Houghton Hall to ensure a seamless handover. We were delighted to be approached by Milo Manton to take over the running of the facilities as it will provide us with further scope to expand as we strive to meet the ever-increasing demand for polo.
"We are totally committed to providing fun, safe polo for all standards of player throughout the winter and next season. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to those who have been using the facilities at Houghton Hall but have not had an opportunity to play polo with us in the past.
"This exciting development means that next year promises to be a great season for Yorkshire polo."
Houghton Hall was previously home to the Vale of York Polo Club.
