Players from the past, players from the present and a healthy crowd ensured that, along with the weather, Carlton Towers Cricket Club were able to mark their 150th anniversary at the Fishpond Field on Sunday.

The players took part in a 20-overs-per-side contest, where a current Carlton XI took on an ex Carlton and guests eleven, featuring their overseas player from three years ago, Abhay Sharma (pictured, left 28-08-33 GT).

The day also featured competitions, races for all ages, and the Gunge tank, where several Carlton Towers personalities were subject to a good dunking.

Music and entertainment was provided throughout the afternoon, and the day closed with a disco until late into the evening.

A great way to mark such an anniversary - now the fight to stay up continues.
