The Jill Duncan whistle-stop took place at the Memorial on Saturday, and a good day saw the bowling green in a quick condition.

Twenty-four teams from around the area took part, and in a close contest the result was as follows:-

1) G. Oldman, M. Taun, T. Acaster, P. Taun and T. Harrison with 10 points and 47 shots

2) F. Greenwood, J. Hughes, A. Hughes, E. Greenwood with eight points and 48 shots

3) B. Sunderland, I. Grant, J. Gormley, R. Kilcoyne and T. Newman with eight points and 48 shots

The Memorial Gardens would like to thank all the teams who have supported their whistle stop competitions throughout the year.

Meanwhile, the end of season approaches (early September) but there are still whistle-stops remaining at Howden (Bank Holiday Monday) and Airmyn Bowls clubs.

And there is finals day for the individual, pairs and team competitions from the Goole and District Bowls League.
