Edged out in final
Pollington's young side, who had done incredibly well to reach the prestigious Hepworth Cup final after defeating the runaway Division One league leaders in the semi-final, just failed in the last final under the present banner.
They entered the final as underdogs with a more experienced Nostell side holding onto second place in Division One.
Pollington lost a vital toss and struggled to get any momentum and fell to 23-5. A gritty mid-order stance with exceptional batting from Sam Strickland and a late flurry from the tail saw Pollington finish with an over remaining on 96 all out.
On a more subdued wicket, Nostell started well with some strong driving, but with good, tight bowling from the Pollington attack and excellent catching Nostell were reduced to 50- 4.
On a low-scoring wicket it only takes a batter with a good eye, a heavy bat and a few ounces of luck to take the game away from the fielding side and unfortunately Pollington were unable to penetrate further into the Nostell order.
The game finished with nine overs remaining and Nostell reached their target with six wickets to spare.
As a consolation Pollington's Sam Strickland was named Man of the Match.
