Doncaster Belles U16s 3

Goole Town Girls 1

Goole travelled to Belles with both teams not at full strength, but the hosts still proved too strong for Town.

Belles had most of the play in the opening exchanges, creating a number of corners and half chances, but couldn't apply a finish.

Goole came more into the game as the half wore on and took the lead when a shot from Abbie Wilkinson was partially saved. Lucy Peet reacted first to hit the rebound home, and soon after they should have increased their lead when a brilliant move involving four players found Wilkinson in the box, but she couldn't apply the vital touch.

The second half was Goole's most disappointing half of the season, with the Belles looking more eager for the ball and looking far more committed, so it was no surprise when they equalised and worse was to follow when a Doncaster player beat four Goole players without a challenge to go in.

With Goole's heads down, Belles hit a third and could have added to the scoreline with more chances at the end.

This was a very disappointing performance, although captain Nisa Wakefield playing at centre back had an outstanding game without getting the support she deserved.

Congratulations to Doncaster Belles for winning the league title and deservedly so.

Team line up: Louise Ramsden, Emily Barker, Leesa Pinkney, Lauren Lofthouse, Nisa Wakefield, Lucy Peet , Megan Oldridge, Elley Mcglynn, Rebecca Cairney, Charlotte Ward, Abbie Wilkinson.

St. Joseph's U11s 1, Goole Town Girls U11s 1

The Under 11s edged ever closer to the Division Two title in an enthralling encounter at second-placed St Joseph's.

It was the home side that started the stronger, putting the Goole defence under early pressure, and they were unlucky to see a shot rebound off the crossbar, but the pressure finally told and the Pontefract based side took a shock lead.

Later in the half Town started to find their feet and Jamie Allan looked the most likely to equalise on the counter attack.

Goole fought back well in the second half and started to create chances and nearly equalised when a goalmouth scramble ended up hitting the post and rebounding to safety.

St Joseph's also looked dangerous on the break and keeper Farrah Fielder had to be at her best on more than one occasion.

With ten minutes remaining the lively Allan made a brilliant run from the half way line and finished well after the keeper had saved her first shot.

Both teams went for the win in an exciting finish with both teams having chances to win the game, but in the end a draw was a fair result.

Goole require one more win to secure the league title in what has been a great season for the youngsters.

Team line up: Farrah Fielder, Leah Dennis, Sophie Acaster, Emily Lappin, Jamie Allan, Isabelle Hassleman, Beth Leeman, Emma Zugic.

Goole Town Girls U14s 0, York City 5

The girls' last home match of this current season against York City was always going to be tough affair.

The visitors, having lost just two points this season, are league champions in waiting.

That said, it was Goole who should have been in the lead at the end of the first half.

Despite a quick start and early pressure from York, it was Goole who were the better side in the opening period.  The girls managing to put pressure on and play some good football, resulting in a number of chances being created, the York keeper having to work hard to keep her team level.

However, the deadlock was broken at the 20 minute mark when against the run of play, York managed to breakthrough and score a goal they didn't deserve at that point in the match.

This advantage didn't stop Goole's attacking play, further chances being created but a goal wasn't to be, in fact York managed to sneak another goal before the half-time whistle.

Despite the score being 2-0, Goole, based on their first half performance, were still in with a chance of some points from this game.

The second half carried on in the same way, with Goole battling hard to get back on level terms. But despite having Brenna Hood, Demi Hadwin working hard in midfield, Lorna Pinkney as Goole's keeper making some great saves, Ellie Wilkinson, Whitney Smith and Charlotte Phillips defending with great heart, it was not enough.

In the end the stronger side came through and York went on to score three more in the second half, taking their chances and finishing well when opportunity arose. The girls put in a good performance and all those who watched enjoyed the battling performance on the day.
