The biggest upset of the Premier Division last Wednesday week, was the defeat of title hopefuls Middle House Mavericks

They were beaten on their own table 6-4 by Vic Con-Vics, this after winning both the opening frames. However, they were unable to halt the head of steam from the Hook Road side for whom Dave Whur and Mark Simms were outstanding.

Meanwhile, the Verm took advantage by winning 6-4 themselves against the Buchanan Badstars. Top men for them were Kirk Swan and captain Kevin Harrison.

Reigning champions Creykes Tigers finally won a game this week when they accounted for NUR Clubbers 7-3 thanks in the main to great play from Darren Copperwheat and Kevin Morrill.

Could this be the start of a good run by the Rawcliffe outfit?

Packet HasBeens' 6-4 win at Peacock Pirates made it a clean sweep in the Premier Division with five away wins, and the home side had few answers to the class of Sean Broadhead and Andy Waters.

In Division One NUR Neanderthals outplayed Marshland Wanderers to win 7-3. It was difficult to choose a Man of the Match with so many eagerly contested frames, but Rob Fallon's clearances probably gave him the nod.

Packet Panthers are still likely to be wondering how they went down 6-4 after seemingly outplaying Bottom House Hunters in a smashing game that had everything.

Panthers are unlikely to remain in the bottom half of the table with such good players like Diane Sowden and the exciting Sam Whitehurst.

PoundaPacket earned their first victory by overcoming Marshland Menaces 6-4 in a match where the Old Goole outfit probably deserved a share of the spoils, especially after losing the first five frames!

Trevor Sweeting and Nathan Crawley both showed up well in the five-all draw between Verm Vultures and Middle House Massive.

Bottom House top Division Two after a 7-3 win over the Middle House Lasses, who are doing well this term.

Cary Dean's Old Goole Club won 6-4 at Charter Cheddars, who continue to improve.

The Half Moon will be disappointed at their 6-4 loss to the unbeaten Royal Flush after playing so well. Exemplary play from Liam Parry and Dave Fielder doing the trick.

All captains are reminded that the meeting tales place, tonight (Thursday) at the Steam Packet with an 8pm start.
