Cowick Rangers U13s 3

Monk Fryston U13s 4

A seven-goal thriller at Croda on Saturday morning went the way of the visitors Monk Fryston in an epic end-to-end encounter.

Great goals, gallant defending and the visitors took the spoils in the end, despite a never-say-die attitude from the Rangers.

Monk Fryston took the lead after 21 minutes, but Josh Banks soon had his team back on level terms with a clinical finish.

After a delay for a nasty clash of heads, Banks gave Cowick the advantage when his cross turned into a shot, catching the visiting keeper totally flat-footed and that was a lead they held until the break.

In the second half, the home defence took a battering, but overall they stood up to the challenge well with Josh Breedon making some important saves.

However, the goal was eventually breached when a seemingly aimless shot found its way home.

Banks' hat-trick restored the lead once more and although under the cosh, the midfield desperately tried to supply good ball for lone striker Fraser West.

The visitors drew level for a second time to make it 3-3, and it was Monk Fryston who won the game late in the proceedings.

The Rangers' Man of the Match went to Lewis Fish.

This Saturday the team travel the short distance to Pollington Panthers, kick off 10.30am.

Goole Town Girls U11s 3

Bingley Athletic 0

Goole continued their impressive start to the season at their new home Goole Town Cricket Club.

On a superb playing surface Goole started brightly, taking the game to the opposition, and opened the scoring with a well-struck shot from Leah Dennis from a tight angle,

The home side continued to press and it wasn't long before they added to their lead when Isabelle Hassleman made a powerful run and finished well.

In the second half Goole continued to play some good football but were finding it hard to break down a stubborn Bingley defence.

The visitors did look dangerous on the break at times but the impressive Natalie Thornhill was in top form. Getting first to most of the balls, Goole finished the game off with a neat finish from Emily Lappin, Bingley nearly got a consolation but for an excellent save from stand in keeper Emma Zugic.

The result sees Goole move into second position in the table.
