Leeds United Academy bound for Gowdall boy
Adam Lund (8) from Gowdall has been accepted into the Leeds United Academy to play for the Under 9s team after being scouted playing for his local team, Snaith Juniors.
The Academy looks for players who show potential as professional footballers and Adam demonstrated his ability in playing for Snaith at Doncaster Development Centre, resulting in him landing a six-week trial with the Academy. He has now been signed and plays every Sunday, travelling to clubs all over the country.
Adam's mum Ellen said: "Only 11 get signed on, so we are all very proud of him. We are all Leeds fans, too - the whole family!"
Dad Paul added: "We are just all absolutely delighted. He has done so well to go through every level and get to the standard that he has. It's the chance of a lifetime."
Adam has been signed for a full season and his aim now is to do well enough to get signed for next season as well. Mr Lund said: "They have got a great side and are doing really well. They have only lost one out of eight games." (25-10-48 GT)
