York City U15s 3, Goole Town Girls U15s 5
Goole's first league game of the new season ended successfully in a pulsating encounter at York.
The visitors made a terrific start with a goal on three minutes from Naomi Chadwick, who raced on to Nisa Wakefield's through ball. Even better was to follow for Naomi, who doubled the lead shortly afterwards.
York pulled a goal back against the run of play with a fine shot from 20 yards, but the two-goal cushion was restored when good work by Leesa Pinkney and Chadwick enabled Becky Whitaker to finish well from close range.
Goole looked to have the game won a minute into the second half when Chadwick scored her hat-trick with an unstoppable shot, but the home side's response was to pull two goals back within a minute. Firstly the keeper spilled a shot and the rebound was slotted home, and then a weak shot somehow found its way through and it was back to 3-4.
Although the reigning champions were reeling, they stuck together and defended for their lives as an equaliser looked imminent. However, they had the last word when Chadwick, who was a constant menace all morning, netted a fourth to seal the points.
Goole Town Girls U13s 8, Tingley Athletic 0
Goole's new Under 13 eleven-a-side squad started their league campaign in emphatic style with an eight goal romp against Tingley.
Despite only two pre-season friendlies, the squad have gelled immediately and although an injury to O'Regan meant a shuffling of the pack it made little difference.
Goole's passing was a joy to watch with captain for the day Tate bagging a hat-trick, Phillips with two, Nicholls with two and new signing Hadwin adding the final goal following an outstanding display.
Special mention to Kirstie Nicholls on scoring her 100th goal for Goole Town Girls. Well done Kirstie.
Goole Town Girls U10s 1, Cottingham Rangers 0
Goole's first home game at West Park on Saturday ended in a one goal victory for the hosts after they dominated long periods of the game.
All the youngsters lacked was quality in front of goal, and as Cottingham pushed everyone behind the ball, the opportunities became less and less.
The pattern continued in the second half, before eventually Emily Lappin gave Goole the lead with a deflected shot.
Farrah Fielder made sure the win was complete with a fine save late in the game.
Bethany Lemman showed up well for Goole throughout.
Parkside Raiders Under 10s 3, Willerby Wanderers 1
A second half comeback from the young Raiders turned a 1-0 half time deficit into a good victory for the home side on Sunday morning.
Willerby took a first-half lead, but the visitors were no match for the second half revival that followed and an equaliser from Kyle Nicholls was followed by two from Luke Woodall.
It was excellent team work from all the players with the Man of the Match award going to Jordan Munday.
In the second game, the scoreline was reversed with the visitors taking a three goal lead, including one from the penalty spot.
Luke Woodall netted from the penalty spot to give Raiders some hope, but the visitors found room with ease at times.
The Man of the Match for Raiders went to keeper Luke Reynolds.
