Triathlon route and tips
THE SECOND Goole Triathlon of 2007 is just around the corner - on Sunday, August 19.
A swim of 600 metres, which starts at Wressle, is followed by a seven-mile ride and a two-mile run will see the event finish at Goole Cricket Club.
Entry forms and the fee of £15 must be paid by August 11, available from Julian Read Jewellers or Goole Cricket Club, or for further details, ring Andy on 07999-085014 or Rick on 07966-507243.
For the swim, which starts at 1pm, with competitors going off at one-minute intervals, swimming goggles are recommended, hats useful to preserve body temperature, and wetsuits are at the discretion of the competitor.
The cycle discipline is from the bankside 100 metres before Loftsome Bridge to the Ferryboat, and marshalls will be on hand to assist with leaving the bikes etc.
Then the run takes in Boothferry Bridge, the bank to Holland House and then down the path to the cricket club.
Organisers ask that care is taken crossing the road at Holland House.
Good luck!
