Fighting from the back

Published on 17th May 2007 in Sport

Local rider Adam Child from Hook, was forced to start from the back of the Cadwell Park grid in 38th position, but still managed to fight his way to the sharp end of the field.

On board his www.theFSD.com sponsored Suzuki GSXR600 Adam battled his way to 13th place, 4th in class in only FIVE laps.

In race two, Chad as he is more commonly known as, took a second in class and was dicing with the top runners on much superior machinery in the tricky damp conditions.

Chad had a usual excellent start then battled hard to keep much faster machinery behind him. In a race filled full of incidents, due to the slippery conditions, Chad rode hard and really surprised the field.

On day two in changeable conditions the www.theFSD.com team decided to opt for dry tyres even though the race was declared wet. The decision proved to be the correct one as again Chad brought the Ken Urwin Motorcycles Suzuki home in second place in class.

Chad told the Goole Times "It was a tough weekend, starting from dead last, deciding on tyres and set up, by my mechanic and brother Mark called it correct every time.

"It was hard battling from the back, but I proved once again I can mix it up front even on an old bike., but I have to say a massive thanks to everyone who helped changing wheels, supporting, with out them, I simply wouldn't have made the grid."

If everything goes to plan Adam is racing at Elvington this weekend with the support of www.theFSD.com and Ken Urwin Motorcycles in Thorne 01405 740248.
