Bojangles play their part in Yarmouth

Published on 26th April 2007 in Sport

Recently, as mentioned last week the Bojangles pool team made the long trip to Great Yarmouth for the national finals. Drawn in the same group as Shrewsbury and Marlow, Bojangles knew they had it tough.

The 9am start didn't help the lads after the night before but they pulled out a superb 14-4 victory against Shrewsbury. Howden knew that 9 points from their following game would see them qualify for the last 32.

Howden raced into a 5-0 lead to finally win 9-5. In the last 32 they were unfortunately drawn against defending champions PJ Stourbridge from the Midlands, who had in their ranks former world U21 champion Neil Raybourne, England player Rob Chilton plus numerous professionals.

Bojangles missed chances before losing 10-2, the highlight being a win for Tom 'KitKat' Jackson against Rob Chilton the other point from Neil Brooks beating professional Jarod Griffiths. Good performances over the weekend came from Dar Copperwheat, Gary Yates, Geoff Rankin, John Greaves, Dancing Dave Stevens, Tom 'KitKat' Jackson, Neil Brooks, Andy Gill, Danny Waudby, Daz Smith and Antony Myers.

The team would like to thank Go Mobile for the sponsorship of the new pink team shirts.
