Tingley Athletic 1, Goole Town Girls U13s 3
In a delayed County Cup quarter-final, Goole were quickly into their stride with a goal by Kirstie Nicholls after two minutes following good work by Demi Hadwin and Jess Tate.
Football was not easy on a poor surface, but the visitors turned round with a one-goal advantage and in the second half soon increased their advantage, with Jessica Tait scoring a cracking goal.
Tingley reduced the arrears with a high ball into the goalmouth that saw the ball go in off a defender's foot.
Despite that, Goole had a semblance of control and Kirstie Nicholls put the game beyond doubt, scoring her second after excellent work involving Hadwin and Tait.
A food performance from Goole, who now travel to Pool in the semi-final.
Goole Town Girls U11s 0, Prospect Juniors 4
Goole faced a difficult task against the unbeaten league leaders at West Park on Saturday and, despite a spirited opening quarter, they fell to the strong Prospect side.
Their talented striker notched an excellent hat-trick and was the principal architect of their defeat.
With the wind behind them in the early stages, Goole were more than a match. However, keeper Emily Smith had to be on her best to save on three occasions from quick breaks.
Rebekha Pinkney used the ball well in defence and there was plenty of effort from Maddy Stannard and Adele Wilson, but on several occasions holding on to the ball too long was their downfall.
After Prospect took the lead the writing was on the wall and although the defeat was not too heavy, the visitors had their outstanding striker and a well-organised defence to show why they are at the top.
Goole Town Girls U10s 2, Westella and Willerby 2
Goole's youngest squad continued their recent improvement with a point against Westella and Willerby at West Park on Saturday.
With a following wind, Goole established a first-half lead when new girl Isobelle Hassleman drifted past two players to slot home.
Goole worked hard at the back with the trio of Acaster, Thornhill and Dennis impressive, as was midfielder Emily Lappin.
It was Lappin who increased the lead in the second half with a goal after a good run, but the visitors replied strongly aided by the conditions and reduced the arrears with a lofted effort giving Pinkney no chance.
And the visitors drew level with a goal by Peyton Shaw.
Cowick Rangers JFC 2, Carlton Cannons 1
After recent cancellations due to waterlogged pitches, Cowick Rangers made progress in the quarter final of the Selby and District League Cup with a 2-1 win over Carlton on Saturday.
The break had seemingly no effect on Cowick, who started well with a goal in the first minute as Josh Banks was put through by a superb pass from Aaron Newman to score with a clinical finish.
By the quarter-hour mark Cowick were two goals to the good as Newman raced on to a through ball and beat the advancing keeper.
Carlton tried to respond, but the home midfield in particular Man of the Match Will Froom worked extremely hard.
The visitors continued to look for a way back into the game and saw a lot of the ball after the interval. The Cowick defence saw pressure for the first time in the match and they eventually pulled a goal back to turn the game into a real cup-tie.
Not long after Josh Breedon pulled off a good save with an outstretched leg to deny an equaliser, whilst at the other end Nicky Fletcher also found the Carlton keeper in form with two fine saves.
Eventually Cowick hung on for the victory in a nail-biting finish to make it through to the last four.
Old Goole Tigers Under 7s
Old Goole Tigers Under 7s had three games of tight football in a match with Howden, two relatively new teams to the game.
The Goole side ran out the winners in the first match 6-3 with goals from Liam Broughton with a hat-trick, Jay Sharman, Liam Harvey and Jamie Hunt. They came from 3-2 down at half time.
In the second game, a change of players saw Howden emerge the stronger and went on to win 4-0.
In the final game Jay Sharman opened the scoring for a resurgent Goole and Jamie Hunt's superb strike from near the half way line saw a second.
Liam Broughton made it three in the first half after good work by Hunt and Reece Kral, and he made it four in a terrific first half.
Howden responded with two quick goals in the second half, before Jack Pepper rounded off an excellent morning's work, enjoyable too for everyone with a goal.
