County call-up for former Goole Mini star

Former Goole RUFC mini rugby player Richard Skowronek, from Wressle, has received a county call-up with his selection for the Yorkshire Under 15s squad.
Richard started his rugby career with Goole Under 8s, then moved to play his school and club rugby at Pocklington when he went to Pocklington School. He now plays his Sunday rugby for Pocklington RUFC Under 15s, and is also captain of Pocklington School Under 15s team.
He began as a mini rugby prop forward, but has developed into industrious, strong-running No 8.
Young Richard is following in the footsteps of his father, also Richard, who runs local business Richard of Howden, and who was a wing forward for both Goole and Pocklington in the 1980s.
While this is young Richard's first selection for Yorkshire, he has been making a name for himself as a future talent for a couple of seasons, including playing for East Yorkshire in 2006 and being part of the Leeds Tykes Elite Young Player Academy for the past two years.
