New Year's Day triathlon
ARRANGEMENTS are well under way for the now traditional 'hangover' cure, the New Year's Day "Chiller" Triathlon.
It is the third year for the event, which will start from Loftsome Bridge at 1pm on Monday, January 1 with a firework display.
It is expected to be a very cold event, and any participant competing, or still interested in competing, is strongly advised to wear a wet suit or dry suit for the swim and a helmet for the cycling leg.
The event will finish at Goole Cricket Club, where hot stew will be available. with a T-shirt to all finishers.
It is a fun event - yes, it is - and is not a race. However, the summer equivalent in August is a full-on race, with competitors in the past travelling from all over Yorkshire.
Entry forms can be obtained from the Cricket Club or Andy on 07999 085014 or Rick 07966 507243.

Howden Minster 3, Cowick Cavaliers 2
Howden Minster beat Cowick Cavaliers after a thrilling second-half comeback.
On a heavy pitch the side that play out of Newport made a terrible start, conceding two goals in the first half. It could have been a lot worse but keeper Carl Coates kept his team in the game with some terrific saves.
The second half saw Minster fight back and goals from Lee Harris and Dan Smith levelled the scores at 2-2.
Then, with time running out, Karl Horsefeld scored a dramatic winner to win the game for Howden.
