Calendar girls

Published on 30th November 2006 in News

All sizes, ages and shapes - but the ladies just couldn't get the fellas to agree to pose, so the Tuesday Drawing and Painting Class at Boothferry Adult Education Centre had to settle for a cocktail of Landscapes and Still Lives for their calendar.

Class members have each produced a picture for the project and one of them, Eileen Blacker, has used her IT talents to compile them into a beautiful calendar which would grace any sitting room. The group all contributed to the cost and Eileen is producing enough for each member of the class to have one for themselves and some for relatives and friends, with a surplus of at least £1 from each calendar to produce a donation for charity.

This group has come to Maggie Kirk's drawing and painting class for varying lengths of time and have learned to use many media and techniques, their newest member producing a beautiful colour-wheel as her contribution. The inspiration for each painting has been drawn from a variety of sources and the resulting work of art shows the breadth and depth of the knowledge they have acquired.

Maggie holds classes in Goole, Snaith and Rawcliffe and Polly, a fellow tutor at Bubwith and Howden. For further details of these classes, or any others at Adult Education, phone 01482 392844 or call at the centre on Stanhope Street, Goole between 10.00am and 2.00pm
