Friends of Oakhill is holding a special public meeting in response to plans for over 25 hectares of land to be covered by a steel shed and 100s of HGV parking and turning areas, which is proposed to start within 30 yards of the proposed Oakhill Country Park.

It will take place on Tuesday, December 5 at the Courtyard, Boothferry Road at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome.

Chairman of the Friends of Oakhill, Kester Dean, said: "Clearly, this proposal has massive implications for Oakhill. There have beens attempts to grab land from the country park and proposals to demolish the proposed country park visitor centre.

"This is not good business; good business parks are not set up like this. If the environment's rubbish, the jobs will be rubbish too. It's crunch time and I hope to see a good turn-out at the meeting."
