Progress for children's centre
Preparations are coming together for the opening of the East Ridings Children's Centre, Howdenshire.
The centre, which is situated in Howden, is currently undergoing consultation with parents from the Howdenshire area to establish what facilities and services they want to be provided.
A design-a-logo competition for the centre was won by Abigail Hardcastle (7) and her design will now be used for all promotional materials including the building's signage, leaflets, posters and stationary.
The first ante-natal group will be delivered by the centre from the Shire Hall, Market Place, Howden on Thursday, September 25. The session is for expectant parents and those with young babies and will run from 10 to 11.30am.
East Riding Children's Centre, Howdenshire also operate as the base for an outreach team who will deliver information sessions. The outreach team will also visit local communities, talk to parents and help identify and fill gaps in the services which are provided to the community.
The official opening of the East Riding Children's centre, Howdenshire is due to take place later this year, but the centre, located at 37 St Helen's Mews, Howden is open now so parents can visit and receive information.
