European influences at trolleybus museum
Members of the public will have the chance to go off their trolley in continental style this weekend.
The trolleybus museum at Sandtoft will play host to a selection of vehicles from all over Europe, including France, Belgium and Portugal, over the three-day bank holiday weekend.
Trolleybuses used to be a common sight in many towns across the region in the 1950s and 60s, however the electrically-driven bus which picks up current from twin overhead wires is no longer seen on the UK's roads.
Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to ride the trolleybuses and learn even more about their transport history.
The museum is also encouraging visitors to take pollution out of towns by offering a 10 per cent discount on admission fees to visitors arriving by public transport.
Admission is just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and a family ticket is available for two adults and up to four concessions for £15.
For further information on the bank holiday attraction visit the museum website www.sandtoft.org or call their information line on 01724 711391.
