A Snaith man has appeared at Goole Magistrates' Court after breaching the requirements of his 12-month community order.

Alix Rooke (20), of Beast Fair, Snaith, admitted failing to comply with the order after he did not show up for two appointments of unpaid work on June 14 and July 19.

The court heard how Mr Rooke claimed to have been punched by an "ex friend" and missed his appointment on July 19 because he was attending hospital for treatment, although he could produce no evidence of this.

The order for a 12-month community order with supervision of unpaid work for 100 hours was made by Goole magistrates on March 11 for a theft offence.

Magistrates decided to follow the Probation Services recommendation of adding 10 hours to Mr Rooke's 66.5 outstanding hours of unpaid work and allowing the community order to continue.
