Police appeal after man's leg broken in violent street assault
A Goole man needed surgery after he was attacked in the street and sustained a broken leg.
The victim, a 34-year-old Goole man, was assaulted outside the North Eastern pub on Boothferry Road at 8.35pm on Sunday, November 5.
It is believed an argument broke out between the victim and his attacker outside the pub. The offender attacked the man and was seen to kick him two or three times while the victim was lying on the ground. The attacker was also seen to stamp on the man's body.
The man's attacker then went inside the pub and left the victim on the ground outside.
Police were called and removed a 29-year-old Goole man from the pub. He was arrested on suspicion of assault, interviewed and then released on police bail.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Doncaster Infirmary, where he is currently admitted. He required surgery to repair his broken leg and is expected to be in hospital for the rest of this week.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident including two or three people who were standing with the offender. These people were not involved in the attack but were witnesses. Anyone with any information should contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060222, referring to log 773 of November 5.
