A 37-year-old man has appeared in court charged with breach of an anti-social behaviour order and common assault.

Jason Stevens, of Percy Street, Old Goole, denied both alleged offences when he appeared at Goole Magistrates' Court. The breach of the anti-social behaviour order is alleged to have happened in Barmby-on-the-Marsh on May 31 this year. Mr Stevens also stands accused of assaulting a woman on March 25 this year.

Magistrates adjourned the common-assault case for trial at the Goole court on October 31. They set a trial date of September 23 for the anti-social behaviour charge.

Mr Stevens was released on bail pending those dates, on the condition that he does not contact prosecution witnesses, that he lives and sleeps at his home address, and that he observes a curfew between between 8pm and 6am.
