Man remains in hospital
In last week's edition of the Goole Times (July 17) we published an article entitled 'Trio bailed after man seriously hurt' on page 16.
The article stated that a man was seriously assaulted at a property on Westfield Avenue in Goole in the early hours of Sunday, July 13. As a result three people had been arrested by police and were now on bail pending further inquiries.
It has now been brought to our attention that some details in this report were in fact incorrect.
The 33-year-old man was assaulted at a property in Derwent Road, Old Goole. However, he managed to make his way to his parent's home in Westfield Avenue in Goole and that is where the ambulance was called which took him to Scunthorpe General Hospital where he was in a serious condition.
We would like to clarify that the man was not assaulted at the house in Westfield Avenue and we apologise to his parents for any embarrassment and upset this article may have caused.
The information was supplied to us by Humberside Police and we printed it in good faith, believing it to be accurate.
The injured man remains in a stable condition at Scunthorpe Hospital and the three people arrested in connection with the assault, a 37-year-old Goole man, a 29-year-old Goole man and a 35-year-old Goole woman, all remain on police bail.
