Tee off in the name of charity
Golfers in Goole are being urged to tee off for their chance to compete on one of the world's most prestigious courses ahead of the giants of golf, as part of the Sue Ryder Care Cup.
Finalists in the nationwide competition, hosted by leading healthcare charity Sue Ryder Care, will play on Celtic Manor's twenty ten course - the first course built specifically for the Ryder Cup - ahead of the sport's most anticipated event in 2010.
Participants need to submit cards from counting competitions, alongside a fee of £10. There is no limit on the amount of cards that can be submitted.
The best 36 players will be able to pit their drivers in a grand final at Celtic Manor on April 23, 2009.
They will play The twenty ten course with its exciting holes and par-five finish before legends such as Tiger Woods play out the ultimate match play test in 2010.
Each finalist will be able to invite a playing partner, as well as enjoy a gala dinner and overnight accommodation in this five-star luxury golf and spa resort in South Wales.
Deborah Rack, Area Fundraising Manager at Sue Ryder Care, Holme on Spalding Moor, said: "It's a wonderful prize and something which will appeal to golfers everywhere.
The beauty of the Sue Ryder Care Cup is its simplicity.
All you need to get started is the special Sue Ryder Care Cup scorecard available at www.suerydercare.org
By taking part people will be supporting Sue Ryder Care's healthcare services for people living with conditions including multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, stroke and cancer. Tee off to help us help more."
Sue Ryder Care supports people to live the lives they want, in the place where they want to live. The charity cares for people in their own homes and communities, in specialist hospices and in neurological care centres. This includes locally the neurological care centre Sue Ryder Care Holme Hall.
