A man was seriously assaulted at a property on Westfield Avenue in Goole in the early hours of Sunday morning, resulting in him being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police received a report from the ambulance service at 1am informing them of the injured man. Officers later arrested a 37-year-old Goole man, a 29-year-old Goole man and a 35-year-old Goole woman on suspicion of wounding with intent.

They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The injured man is still in Scunthorpe General Hospital and his condition is described as serious but stable.
