Stepping up to the oche
The Plough Inn in Snaith is hosting a 24-hour darts marathon for a good cause.
The sponsored marathon will be held tomorrow, July 11, to raise money for the Snaith Community Playing Fields Association.
Last year the pub held a similar event which saw 16 players playing darts for a full 24 hours and raised more than £2,000 for charity.
"The same format is taking place this year and we all hope to beat last year's total," said landlord Chris Pimlett.
Prize-draw tickets for the darts marathon are now on sale and can be bought from the bar.
The prizes, which are now on display in the pubs window, include an iPod classic 80g (first prize), a digital camera and printer (second prize), and £50 of vouchers (third prize).
Fourth prize is a dartboard signed by darts player Martin 'Wolfie' Adams, last year's world professional darts champion.
Earlier this year Martin was at the pub for a darts presentation and to sign the back of the dart board.
In addition to the top four prizes, there are others on offer such as a men's gift set donated by Garners Pharmacy, a £25 meat voucher from J&M Rowlands Butchers,
a bottle of Famous Grouse whisky, a DVD player, Warres Warrier port, and bottles of wine and champagne.
* Plough Inn landlords Chris and Paul Donato would like to thank Paul Auty for his help in getting cash and prizes for the Grand Draw.
They would also like to thank Martin and Debbie Higgs for their help.
Anyone wishing to sponsor one of the darts players, make a prize donation or buy a prize-draw ticket, can contact the Plough Inn on 01405 860751.
