A man has denied five charges of theft and false accounting totalling £1,500 from his employee in his first appearance at Hull Crown Court.

Harold Kime (46) denied the charges, which all relate to money he is alleged to have stolen from Ms Christine Hill in Howden between March 3 and April 2, 1999.

He pleaded guilty to three charges of false accounting relating to falsely recording Girobank payments with a view to gain when he appeared before a judge on Monday (June 2).

Defence barrister Mark Bury said Mr Kime was in poor health and the case was old and a report should be compiled by the Humberside Probation Service before his next appearance at court.

The case was adjourned by Judge Roger Thorne for a date to be fixed in the week commencing June 30.

Mr Kime, of Coppice Road, Highfield, Doncaster, was allowed to walk free from court on bail. (05-06-40 SU)
