Cyclist air-lifted after Drax crash
A cyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being in collision with a car on the A645 at Drax on Tuesday.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was involved in an incident with a dark-coloured Saab car.
He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "At 18.55 on Tuesday, June 10, a road traffic collision occurred between a cyclist and a car on the A645 at Drax.
"The cyclist received serious injuries and was conveyed by Air Ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary.
"Inquiries are in progress to identify the man concerned, who at this time is not believed to be local."
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Air Ambulance said the call reached their York Control Centre shortly after 6.50pm. The helicopter took off at 7pm. It arrived at the scene at 7.15pm, left with the male patient at 7.30pm and arrived at Hull Royal Infirmary at 7.50pm.
Police are seeking witnesses to the collision, and anyone with information should contact the Selby Road Policing Group on 0845 6060247, with information marked for Pc Richard Ellis.
