Police hunt stolen car crash driver
Police were hunting for a thief who stole a 4x4 and then drove it into a lorry on a roundabout in Goole on Tuesday afternoon, before driving away.
The 4x4 was carrying a container of diesel in a trailer on the back.
The contents cascaded over the road at the roundabout near the Guardian Glass factory.
Police received a call from a member of the public at 12.22pm and when they arrived they found diesel everywhere and the driver and the stolen vehicle nowhere to be seen.
It is alleged that a man stole the 4x4 at the Guardian Glass factory which was carrying a trailer holding a fuel bowser.
The driver of the 4x4 then left the scene, resulting in a police helicopter trying to track the car down.
Officers were unable to find the car and are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anybody with any information can contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060 222 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
