Teen forced off train and robbed at knifepoint
A teenager was forced off a train by two men who threatened him with a knife before robbing him of cash.
The incident took place on Friday, October 13, between 7.20pm and 7.40pm on a train that was travelling between Doncaster and Thorne.
The 18-year-old man was approached by two men whilst on the Scunthorpe bound Northern Rail service. He was threatened by the men who claimed they had a knife.
The two men then forced the victim off the train at Thorne South Railway station and a quantity of money was withdrawn from his account at a nearby cash dispenser. The two offenders then fled with the money.
Both offenders have been described as white, approximately 30 years of age and 6ft tall.
The British Transport Police have released an efit image of one of the suspects (02-11-28 SU) and are appealing for anyone who may have any information regarding the identity of the suspect to come forward in strict confidence.
Detective Constable Andy Lehman said: "Incidents such as this are fortunately very rare. However, the victim has been badly shaken by this robbery and it is vital that we catch the offenders.
"Therefore we urge anyone with information or who may recognise the male from the efit likeness to come forward. We will not tolerate this type of behaviour on the rail network."
If you have any information about this incident please contact the British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or 0113 2436686, quoting 119159/2006.
