Three peaks challenge raises cash for charity
Pictured are Matthew, Mark, John and Nigel Punton of J. Punton and Sons, who have raised nearly £1,500 for the NSPCC after completing the national Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours.
The challenge saw the group cover more than 1,000 miles to tackle the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales.
This year marks the 50th anniversary for J. Punton and son after the DIY and funeral businesses in Snaith were set up in 1958.
Both businesses were founded by the late Jack Punton, who himself raised thousands of pounds, walking around the ocast of England and Wales and from Hull to Holland. He raised in excess of £40,000.
The Three Peaks Challenge was held to commemorate Mr Punton, senior, and to mark the 50th anniversary of the business.
Jack'' son, shop owner John, said: "I have always wanted to do the Three Peaks Challenge, so we thought we would link it to the business's anniversary.
"My father did a lot of fundraising for the NSPCC so we did it in memory of him as much as anything."
Missing from the picture is Michelle Punton, who also completed the challenge, and Simon Punton, who was the driver.
