Countdown under way for this year's Howden Show
With just two months to go, the countdown to Howden Show 2008 has begun.
A host of top attractions have been booked for Sunday, July 13 to ensure that the show builds on the success of last year's hugely popular return to The Ashes playing fields, which has been its traditional home since it was first launched 128 years ago.
There will be a wealth of fun and entertainment for children, including the Mad Science tent, which proved extremely popular at last year's show.
Younger visitors to the show will also enjoy Wonky Rabbit Magic and Sam's Safaris. The Xtreme Trials Display Team - a huge crowd-pleaser at last year's event -will also make a welcome return.
Old favourites include the sheep, cattle and horse classes; the dog show and the opportunity for people to exhibit arts, crafts and local produce.
The Viking FM roadshow will be in attendance, along with Mark Bell Tree Carving. The varied programme combines the very best of old and new, offering plenty to appeal to people of all ages.
Show-jumping classes, which have traditionally formed part of the show's busy programme, will be held on Saturday, June 28 at a dedicated horse show event taking place on the field next to California Gardens just off the A614 in Howden (close to the Long's Corner roundabout).
Schedules for the craft and local produce classes at Howden Show will soon be available from ARD, The Wheatsheaf, Parkins butchers and Michelle Louise.
