Developers explain Capitol Park plans to town councillors
Chief executives from Sterling Capitol addressed Goole Town Council on Tuesday evening to discuss issues surrounding up-coming planning applications.
They stated that the site was going to be a mixed location of distribution warehouses, office units and bio-units.
They also stated that it was hoped that more office units would go on the Rawcliffe Road side of the site to leave more industrial development space on the New Potter Grange site.
Cllr John Frost said: "What if the bats go back to New Potter Grange? What you are doing is bulldozing heritage. As a company I thought you would want to retain heritage."
Simon Clarke, director of Sterling Capitol, said: "We try to put together plans with people who are interested in conservation as well as development.
"We try and create an environment that companies want to move into."
He added: "It is a significant project and we are mindful of the protected species on the site. We are more than happy for any councillors to come and see any of our other sites.
"We are aware of the heritage of New Potter Grange and we will look seriously at how that will be used.
"We are looking at vast improvements of tree planting. We are going above and beyond with what we are trying to do."
Sterling Capitol also confirmed that out of the 300 acres on the site, 65 are dedicated to landscaping and ecological development.
Following the severe fire New Potter Grange, Sterling Capitol also plan to put up a new bat roost to encourage the bats to return.
