A woman accused of possession of cocaine has appeared at Hull Crown Court (May 6) and elected to stand trial.

Louise Cox (35), of Heber Street, Old Goole, denied receiving a quantity of cocaine a class A controlled drug from Ryan Dwyer.

Ms Cox, who is on bail, appeared in the dock of Hull Crown Court on Tuesday May 6 and spoke only to deny the single charge as it was put to her. Ryan Dwyer (20), of Tollerton Road, Liverpool, is accused of supplying cocaine to Ms Cox on January 28. He has pleaded not guilty and elected to stand trial.

Judge Roger Thorn, QC, ordered the pair to stand as he told them their trial could not take place immediately.

Ms Cox was allowed to walk free on bail pending a trial at Hull Crown Court on a date to be fixed possibly on June 16. Mr Dwyer was remanded in custody. He made no application for bail.
