Snaith Parochial Church Council has been awarded £20,000 towards improvements for Snaith Priory Church.

The money from the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) and distributed by Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN), will go towards a new kitchen, disabled toilet, store room and disabled access improvements within the church.

Newport Brickyard Nature and Play Area was also awarded £22,500 for various improvements, including a new play area incorporating a climbing wall, along with an elevated bird hide overlooking the fish pond and improved footpaths.

New information board and signage will also be provided throughout the site.

Ben Walker, Humber project manager for WREN, said: "WREN is seeking applications from community groups for good community schemes within the region.

Organisations are invited to bid for funding of between £75,000 and £250,000 for capital projects.
