Councillors in Snaith and Cowick are hoping more traffic patrols will put an end to the abuse of disabled parking spots.

At Monday's town council meeting, Cllr Richard Bridge raised the matter and the meeting heard that people without the requisite badge frequently parked in disabled spots.

Vehicles have also been spotted without tax discs.

The main problem ares included Butt Lane and the market place, and it was agree to contact Inspector Michael Bower to ask if a traffic warden could patrol the area one day a week. There was concern that a warden had not been seen in the town recently.

Cllr Greta Laughton reported that she had recently tackled someone misusing the disabled parking spots, but they had made no attempt to move when she had pointed out the problem.
