Following the closure of Westfield Avenue Post Office in Goole last week, services which were provided by the Westfield Avenue branch in Airmyn have also been terminated.

Plans were in place to provide an alternative service to residents in Airmyn but there will now be a break in service. The service will be replaced by an 'outreach' service in early March, with the same facilities as before the temporary closure.

A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: "We apologise to customers for the inconvenience this may cause and can assure them we are committed to returning a service to the area as soon as possible."

During the period of temporary closure, customers are advised to use Goole

Post Office at Hedley Court, Boothferry Road in Goole or any other Post

Office of their choice.
