Plans for the Capitol Park development go back before the East Riding's planning committee today.

Developers Sterling Capitol have applied for permission to vary several conditions of the original planning permission.

They relate to the hours of construction and the majority were imposed to protect residents in nearby properties.

However, the two properties - Shalom and New Potter Grange - have since been purchased by the developers.

Shalom has been demolished, and New Potter Grange was recently severely damaged by fire.

Given these development, Sterling Capitol applied for the conditions to be removed.

Their case was considered at a planning committee meeting on January 10, when it was agreed to defer the application for a site visit, and for information about the future of New Potter Grange to be received.

A report to today's meeting recommended that the application again be deferred, this time for a Section 106 agreement to be completed. The 106 agreement covers the developer's contribution to the community and in this case includes elements such as a contribution to the country park area and completion of a link road.

The meeting takes place today at 10.30am, at County Hall, Beverley.
