Council vacancy
Newport Parish Council has a vacancy for a parish councillor.
A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if ten electors of the parish write to the chief executive of East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Yorkshire, HU17 9BA by February 19, claiming an election.
If the chief executive does not receive such a request, the parish council will be informed that it may fill vacancies by co-option, meaning that the council members will elect new colleagues from those who have already expressed an interest in joining the council.
If you would like to discuss the role, please contact Deborah Sedman, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's senior electoral assistant, on 01482 393311, or if you wish to discuss the role of parish councillor, please contact the clerk to the parish council, Ms C. Young, "Woodhelven", 7 Oak Drive, Newport, HU15 2QU.
