First rehearsal for Shipmates group
Ahoy there! Nick Salter, Edward Johnson, Alex Brown, William Salter and Emma Wales took part in the first rehearsal of Shipmates on Monday.
The youth section of Castaway, Shipmates is a new music theatre group for children and young people between nine and 18, from Goole and the surrounding area.
Activities include acting, singing, dancing and playing musical instruments, with the young people themselves deciding which performances to produce.
The group is open to young people with or without learning or physical disabilities, and is an opportunity to make new friends and have fun in a safe and accessible environment.
Jo Glover and Carol Hodson, co-directors of the Castaway theatre group, will lead the group.
Shipmates will meet at The Gate, on Dunhill Road in Goole, every Monday during term-time between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
The sessions will involve rehearsals for the first performance on March 15, at The Gate. A drink and a light snack are provided on arrival, or members are welcome to bring their own.
The cost is £2 annual fee to join, plus £1 per week, and 50p for the drink and snack.
