A local man and woman appeared before Goole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to face a string of charges relating to drugs and firearms possession.

Shane Turton (23), of Boothferry Road, entered no plea to charges of possessing cannabis with intent to supply, possessing a firearm and possessing ammunition for the firearm.

Appearing alongside Mr Turton on Tuesday was Caroline Hewan (23), of Hawthorn House, Selby Common, who pleaded not guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply, and possessing a firearm.

It is alleged that the items were seized at a property in Gordon Street, Goole, on August 10, 2007.

Magistrates adjourned the cases until February 19. Both will enjoy unconditional bail until that date.
