News Award honour for Nicola
A Goole woman has been presented with a prestigious award from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) after gaining top marks in the region for her studies towards the Professional Certificate in Marketing.
Nicola Thresh (46) studied for the qualification at York College whilst working in two separate jobs throughout the week. She was presented with the award at a recent CIM event in Leeds.
The event focussed on networking, which was one of Nicola's favourite aspects of studying with CIM.
"The course was very enjoyable and valuable in helping to underpin my knowledge and experience," said Nicola.
"I particularly enjoy the networking involved in being a CIM member as I believe it is an essential element of effective marketing.
"I made some great friends on the course and my tutors, Brian Lees and John Purday, were fantastic."
Nicola currently works as a freelance marketer in the Yorkshire area, with clients that include the White Rose Polo Club, the fastest-growing polo club in Yorkshire.
She also works two days a week for Middlethorpe Hall and Spa in York as sales and marketing manager.
Nicola added: "My plan for the future is to apply what I have learned to my work at Middlethorpe Hall and Spa, and to further develop my freelance business."
John Hartley, president of the Mid-Yorkshire branch of the CIM, said: "The qualification is a fantastic addition to Nicola's CV as it is highly regarded throughout the industry and recognised on an international level.
"The qualification really makes a statement about commitment and level of knowledge."
