Last week, the 23 children of the Lower Junior School at The Read School, Drax, put on their Christmas show for parents and friends.

A unique version of the popular song 'When Santa got Stuck up the Chimney', the children in their various guises, as woodland creatures, Santa's reindeer and snowflakes all attempted to pull Santa out of the chimney. It was only the canny church mice who lit a fire in the grate beneath him, who managed to get him out!

Head of the Lower Juniors, Sue Tolman said: "The children have been fantastic as always - there was quite a lot for such young children to learn but they did a brilliant job."

Pictured are Alice Simmons, Safiya Benaddi, Harry Hey and Charlotte Hall as the church mice. (20-12-64 SU)
