The award-winning Goole Surgical Treatment Centre is set to show why it is so successful today, when a special event is held in Thorne.

Clinicians and nurses from the treatment centre, which is located at Goole and District Hospital, are holding the event at The Punchbowl in Thorne, from 10am until 1pm.

Centre manager Gaby Sadowyj said that the Surgical Treatment Centre is expanding its services, so the team wants local people to know what high-quality, patient focussed National Services they can access on their doorstep.

She said: "The Centre has won national awards and provides a high standard of care for patients having a wide range of operations from hip and knee replacements to sporting injuries, lumps, bumps to gall-bladder surgery and many more.

"The beauty of the Centre is that we can offer surgery within weeks not months. It is a clean and friendly environment, there are good motorway links, ample free parking and transport may be available."

The Centre, which opened in 2003, provides Orthopaedic and Ophthalmology Surgery Surgery and has recently extended its services to include General Surgery and ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat).

Gaby added: "Why not come along and meet the doctors and nurses? There will also be an entertaining presentation at noon from one of our clinicians entitled 'Do they really KISS at Goole?' and talks about the surgical work that we do."
