Boy sentenced for sex assault on young girl
A 14-year-old boy from the Goole area was sentenced at Goole Magistrates'' Court earlier this week after pleading guilty to committing a sexual offence against a girl under the age of 13.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Goole magistrates on Tuesday, having previously pleaded guilty to sexual touching.
Prosecutor Julie Laverack Glanville told the court that the incident occurred after 6pm on June 22 this year, when the boy and girl met on a recreation field nearby the Ben Bailey Estate in Snaith.
The court heard that the boy pulled down the girl's trousers and touched her, despite her telling him to 'get off', and continued by placing the girl's hand on him in a sexual manner.
Following the incident, the girl told her sister and mother and agreed to take part in a medical examination, which concluded that penetration of some form had taken place.
Addressing the court, Mrs Laverack Glanville said the boy later admitted that he had touched the girl's breasts and might have penetrated her "a little bit" with his fingers.
This week, the boy was made the subject of a referral order, which is available for all young people who appear in court for the first time and who admit the offence as charged. The boy was also ordered to pay £55 towards court costs.
