Readers will have to wait a little longer to find out the fate of the Westfield Avenue and Reedness post offices.

Orginally, an announcement was expected on Tuesday this week but Ben Cawley, a spokesperson for Royal Mail, said it was now likely to be next Thursday.

Meanwhile, the MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, singled out the campaign to save Goole's Westfield Avenue post office for praise in Parliament last Thursday.

Prospective Goole MP Andrew Percy also paid tribute to the campaigners.

There are proposals to close Westfield Avenue and replace Reedness post office with an outreach service.
