Healthy eating sessions

Published on 29th November 2007 in News

Goole Leisure Centre held 'cook and eat' demonstrations on Monday, giving healthy food demonstrations and healthy-eating advice to weight-management groups.

The demonstration was part of a joint partnership between East Riding of Yorkshire Council and The Courtyard and weight-management and cardiac rehabilitation groups were both invited to the free session.

Steve Shaw, healthy-lifestyle development officer, said: "The sessions have been great. Every week we talk to the clients on our weight-management sessions about healthy eating and portion sizes, however it felt good to be able to have an actual demonstration on how you can cook a very tasty yet healthy three-course meal.

"The session was very well attended and I would like to say thank you to all those involved.'
