Town set for festive light switch-on
There will be snow tomorrow!
The Mayor of Goole, Cllr Jean Kitchen, has arranged for a snow machine to scatter snowflakes when Goole's Christmas lights are switched on tomorrow.
"I remember having the snow a few years ago, and I thought it would be lovely to have it again," said Cllr Kitchen.
As well as the ceremonial flick of the switch, there will also be snow candles, music courtesy of Frank Ella and his friends, rides, stalls and other entertainment.
Father Christmas will make an appearance and Goole Town Council staff will be in costume as Sylvester, Sweetie and Mother Christmas, among other characters.
The action takes place from 6pm (switch-on at 6.30pm) tomorrow, outside the Natwest Bank in the precinct.
There will also be a collection for the mayor's charities.
Up she goes - the tree is lifted into place ready for tomorrow. (29-11-35 GT)
