Woman hit by street attacker
A woman was left unconscious after being attacked from behind and having her head banged against the pavement.
The attack happened around 2am on Saturday, outside the Vision nightclub on Mariner's Street in Goole.
Prior to the assault the victim, who is aged 32, was in a club with a friend, and had been drinking.
A discussion took place between the victim's friend and another woman, who is believed to be the attacker.
Some time after this, the victim and her friend became separated and the 32-year-old began walking home.
As she walked alongside the nightclub on Mariner's Street she was hit on the back of her head with a bottle, which knocked her to the ground.
The offender is then reported to have pinned her to the floor, grabbed her head and banged it against the pavement, knocking her unconscious.
The victim was found by nightclub staff and taken to Goole Hospital, where she was treated for a cut to her right eyebrow which required stitches, bruising to her left eye, lips and forehead and bruising and a lump to the back of her head.
She was not admitted to hospital.
Her attacker was said to have mousey, shoulder-length brown hair and a gap between her two front teeth.
Police are appealing for witnesses - anyone who saw the assault or noticed anyone inside the club fitting the suspect's description is asked to call 0845 6060 222, quoting log number 359 of November 24.
