Extension plan goes to appeal
An appeal has been lodged against East Riding of Yorkshire Council's (ERYC) decision to refuse planning application for an extension to be built onto a home in Rawcliffe.
The appeal, put forward by Mrs C. Bailey, relates to the refusal to allow a first-floor extension to a property in Boynton Court, off Boynton Drive in Rawcliffe.
The application was refused because it was considered that the proposed extension did not appear to match the existing home in terms of size, scale and design.
It was also thought by ERYC that, should the application be approved, the entire property would dominate the street scene, which otherwise consists of bungalows, and would detract from the visual amenity of the area.
The appeal began on November 13, and is set to be decided on the basis of an exchange of written statements by the parties and site visit by an inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.
